A: Yes, we are happy to work with you on any design request

Q. Does the website contain all of EastWind Traders Catalog items?
A: Our website contains a sampling of our furniture, leather and accessories. We are continually expanding our furniture line with new designs. Many of our items are one-of-a-kind and move quickly. We are also constantly expanding our furniture line and adding new designs. Although we try to maintain our website so that it is a fair representation of our wholesale furniture, updates are an ongoing process.

Q. Is each piece exactly like the photo in the catalog?
A: Photos are never exactly transferable, but we have done our best to recreate the reality of the piece as closely as possible.

Q. Are finishes exactly alike?
A: Our finishes are essentially light and dark and generally compatible, but we offer no guarantee in exactness since we hand finish each piece and there are variables of grain and final tones.

Q. How do I clean this furniture?
A: Do not clean with water, damp material, oils, or strong chemical polishes. We find that clear Bri-wax does a great job once or twice a year.

Q. What happens with spilled liquid?
A:Our solid hardwood finish has a wax finish, so wipe dry immediately with a clean cloth otherwise there will be a visible water stain.

Q. Will your furniture adapt to different climate and humidity levels?
A:Furniture will crack or warp if not properly kiln dried to a humidity level of 6-7% and this is especially true for furniture originating from humid climates and being delivered to dry climates. Our furniture is manufactured in the hot desert region of Rajasthan, where the climate is very dry. In addition to the natural dry climate all of our wood used in manufacturing pieces is kiln dried, to make sure that humidity levels do not exceed 7%.

Q. Has your furniture been treated for possible insect infestation?
A:As a precautionary measure all our furniture is fumigated in the ocean bound shipping container before shipping.

Q. What is considered distressed or splitting?
A:We kiln-dry our wood properly. If manufactured seams separate beyond the natural distress of our wood then we will work with you in fair resolution of the problem. Knots, cracks and other natural imperfections are too be expected in hand made furniture and in fact add to the natural charm of the wood.
